About Bhagwan

ABOUT RAMANA MAHARSHI FOUNDATION

The Ramana Maharshi Foundation was founded during 2001 and registered as a Charitable Trust on 19.04.2001.  The Ashram was inaugurated by the President, Sidda Ganga Mutt, Tumkuru, Poojya Sri Sri Sri Dr Shivakumara Swamiji, who lived for 111 years and in the divine presence of Poojya  Sri Sri Sri  Bhahmananda Swamiji, (Chinmaya Mission Bangalore). The inauguration was attended by several dignitaries.  The Ashram is a Spiritual Centre spread over an area of 45000 sft adjacent to the National Highway 44 (NH44) located at 26th km from Bangalore on Hosur Road.

On the eve of the 100th birthday of Sri Patel Bidda Reddy, father of Sri B Srinivas Reddy (Managing Trustee) the foundation for the home for senior citizens was laid on 25.12.2005 by Poojya Sri Sri Sri Dr Shivakumara Swamiji in the presence of Ho'nable ministers and other dignitaries. About 3,500 guests attended this memorable function. Inauguration of this home was done on 02.11.2008 by Poojya Sri Sri Sri Veereshananda Swamiji, President, Ramakrishna Mutt, Tumkur in the presence of several dignitaries.  This home for elders is in an area of 25,000 sqft. 

The Foundation which is a charitable trust, is exempted under Income Tax Act 80G and 12 A vide No DIT-BLR/80G/503/AAXFS0115R/ITO(E)-2/Vol 2010-11 dated 23.03.2011. The foundation has neither sought nor received any grants from the Governments and other organizations and all the construction and maintenance are being done by the Trust out of its own resources with the blessings of Bhagwan Sri Ramana Maharshi. 

The Ashram is a unique place having Pancha Bhutas, Ashta Dikpalakas, Navagrahas, Saptha Rishis and a Shiva Temple. A Meditation Centre of 3000 sqft area with Bhagawan’s life-size statue and a Gnana Mandira with an area of 3500 sqft meant for spiritual and cultural functions are also there.  The Ashram is open to all those who believe in various spiritual paths irrespective of caste, creed and religion.

The Ashram is open from 7 AM to 7 PM throughout the week.

A Health Care Centre and Yoga Centre are also functioning on a small scale and these services will be expanded after the completion of the new health centre building by November 2024.

About the Trustees

The foundation comprises four members. Our family firmly believes that whatever accomplishments have happened through our Foundation and its maintenance have happened with the divine GRACE of Bhagavan Sri Ramana Maharshi.  The Managing Trustee attributes all the accomplishments to the feet of Bhagawan and any few failures to his KARMAS.

Sri B Srinivasa Reddy

Sri B Srinivasa Reddy is a Civil Engineer and Retired as Managing Director, of Karnataka Urban Water Supply & Drainage Board, Bangalore in 2007 after serving for 40 years in the water sector of Karnataka State. He has been a sincere devotee of Bhagavan Ramana Maharshi for the past 42 years.  During his trip to Thiruvannamalai for a different purpose and a brief visit of about 15 minutes to the Ramana Maharshi Ashram on his way back to Bangalore have made him to become a devotee of Bhagawan Ramana Maharshi. The GRACE of Bhagawan has made it possible to construct this Ashram, home for elders and the Health & Yoga Centers. 

Sri Srinivasa Reddy hails from a middle-class agricultural family and the entire land of 70000 sqft belongs to his family. He has also served in various other NGOs a few of them are as follows:

Secretary General: South India Graduate Engrs. Federation (SIGEF)

Smt T Manjula

Smt Manjula is the wife of Sri B Srinivasa Reddy (Managing Trustee). She is a home maker. Her immense and whole hearted support right from the formation of our Foundation has helped us in all these accomplishments.

Dr Rashmi S Reddy

Dr Rashmi S Reddy is the daughter of the Managing Trustee. She is a pathologist by profession and is rendering her sincere services to the Ashram and its activities

Dr Ramana S Reddy

Sri Ramana S Reddy is the son of Sri B Srinivasa Reddy (Managing Trustee). He is a Software Engineer by profession and rendering sincere services to the Ashram and its activities.
